Big Boys Toys is back in town this weekend at ASB Showgrounds from 8 – 10 November with an action-packed three days set to be bigger, ballsier and better than ever.

Event organiser Dean Wilson says he’s stoked with the amazing line-up of attractions this year.

“Set-up is well underway at the showgrounds for this weekend’s Big Boys Toys and it is gearing up to be the best year yet, with an amazing array of world champions, best in-class cars and top extreme sports people,” says Wilson.

Headlining the event is freestyle motorcross world champion Levi Sherwood who will be igniting the Skinny Mobile Action Arena with thrills and hopefully no spills on the massive dirt jump, which he is building for Big Boys Toys. Also in the Skinny Mobile Action Arena will be Drive Rush, the world parallel parking record holders, top BMX riders and wake boarders.

Speciality cars always get special attention at Big Boys Toys, with BBT Drive this year, most notably featuring the 2014 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Show N Shine also feature favourites like hot rods, muscle cars, cool classics, fast fours and rotaries for all the petrol heads and classic car enthusiasts alike.

Muscles are also on show at Big Boys Toys with CrossFit’s Battle of the Fittest competition where 140 of NZ’s top CrossFit athletes will tough it out over two days to find the fittest man and woman in the country.

The outdoor action this year includes the Auckland Regional Excavator Operator Competition, always a crowd favourite, and The Big Lift, the first major forklift competition in the country, presented by Rugby League legend, Graham Lowe.

And the Tui Public House will have entertainment to enjoy while watching the action arena, with live bands, Hauraki DJs and hilarious comedians Ben Hurley, Guy Williams, Jarred Fell and Jamie Bowen to crack even the hardest of manly men.

New Zealand rally car driver legend Possum Bourne will be commemorated with a visual history at the show, with trophies and photos and the Possum Bourne Wild Rally Car.

Alongside these fantastic features are six halls filled with more cars, motorbikes, technology, sports equipment, gadgets and gizmos than ever.

“Big Boys Toys is a great day out, whether for a family day, for a day with the boys, for fathers and sons, for a stag do, to daydream over the gadgets, to be thrilled, to have an honest beer – come and enjoy, it’s all here,” says Wilson.
