Highly-regarded as one of the leading boutique hotels of the world, Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown New Zealand has added to its extensive collection of accolades being voted New Zealand’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel at the inaugural World Ski Awards held in Kitzbuhel, Austria last weekend (November 16-17).

Launched earlier this year to celebrate exceptional success in the ski tourism industry, the World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of the World Travel Awards, widely heralded as ‘the Oscars of the travel industry’.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel owner Andrew Cox said the internationally-recognised award, which is the hotel’s second global award in just two weeks, was “an exceptional honour and recognition of our commitment to excellence”.

Earlier this month Eichardt’s was named the World’s Best Luxury Ski Resort Hotel at the 2013 World Luxury Hotel Awards recognising outstanding service within the travel industry.

Eichardt’s is a truly unique property with an exceptional history, year-round appeal and a unique offering. It’s these factors, coupled with the team’s exhaustive attention to detail and high levels of customer service that have helped us win this award.

“We’re honoured to be recognised by our industry peers – not once, but twice -- as the best ski boutique hotel in in New Zealand and globally”

“Queenstown has flourished in recent years into an outstanding ski resort, becoming one of the world’s most noted ski destinations and we’ve adapted to this market, providing personalised experiences for our guests during the season”

The Eichardt’s Collection of properties– which includes Eichardt's Private Hotel, Eichardt’s Bar, Eichardt’s Lakefront Apartments and the Eichardt’s Residence -- have been lauded by some of the travel industry’s most prestigious publications over the years.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel General Manager James Cavanagh said two “exceptional” global awards in two weeks was “an outstanding recognition for our world-class hotel”.

“For the discerning traveller, Queenstown will mean Eichardt’s, and Eichardt’s will mean Queenstown.”

“We’re looking forward to an outstanding winter next year and we’re already making plans to add to our guest services for the season,” he said.

Eichardt’s is well known around the world as the perfect luxury ski property with its idyllic central lakeside location, spacious suites, and warm and inviting bar - perfect for après ski and offering the very best New Zealand wines and food.

World Ski Awards Managing Director Sion Rapson said the event was the “definitive” award within global ski tourism.

“The winners, voted for by tourism professionals and high-end ski tourism consumers across the globe, will serve to define the standards of our industry, inspiring others to raise the guest experience and stimulate new demand,” he said.

As Queenstown prepares for the New Zealand summer, Eichardt’s has an exciting new menu with exquisite offerings from chef Will Eaglesfield which stand alongside the timeless classics and house specialties, supported by a beautifully-crafted wine list.
