Challenge Roth voted 'Best Race of the Year 2013'

For the third time in a row, DATEV Challenge Roth has won the title of “Best Race of the Year” at Europe’s prestigious Sailfish Night of the Year. The award is decided by the readers of “Triathlon”, Europe’s largest triathlon magazine, who once again voted Challenge Roth as the world’s best triathlon in 2013. Over 49% of votes went to Challenge Roth with the nearest contender, Hawaii in second place, receiving just 17.6% of the votes.

At the “Sailfish Triathlon Night of the Year” in Frankfurt, Challenge CEOs Alice and Kathrin Walchshöfer were delighted to accept the award from chief editor of Triathlon Magazine, Frank Wechsel. “I am proud and happy to receive this award on behalf of our 5,700 volunteers, our athletes and our supporters from the county of Roth,” said Kathrin Walchshöfer. “This award goes out to all of them, because together they turned DATEV Challenge Roth into a top-quality race that is unique around the world. For the third time, the triathlon-crazy county of Roth hosted the best race in the world with lots of passion, enjoyment and friendship. I am extremely proud of our volunteers and supporters, and I am so happy to be able to bring this award home again to the citizens of Roth!”

Two further Challenge Family races were included in the Top 10 Best Races of 2013 with Challenge Kraichgau taking out fourth place and Tyrol Challenge Walchsee achieving eighth place.
