Challenge Family in North America chooses Athletepath’s event platform to provide personalized notices and social networking for triathletes and their friends, family and fans
Over 6,000 triathletes will toe the line at Challenge Family triathlon events across North America this year, and each athlete will be better supported and more connected than ever before.
Challenge Family understands that an athlete’s journey starts months before race day, and involves a passionate team of friends, family, and training partners. Celebrating the community commitment to a great race for all, Challenge Penticton, Challenge St. Andrews, Challenge Atlantic City, and Challenge Rancho Cordova are providing unparalleled social networking and personalized notifications for athletes and all of their friends on Athletepath.
“In today’s connected environment, athletes are looking for avenues to share their inspiration, camaraderie, and motivation with friends, family and fans through social media. Athletepath offers unprecedented opportunity for social connectivity providing a transformative event experience. Challenge Family North America is excited to join with Athletepath to bring this new dimension of engagement to our athletes and their families.” – Murphy Reinschreiber, Challenge North America.
For the very first time athletes and the public can discover everyone they know participating in Challenge Family triathlon events, and socially “follow” them to receive race notifications via Athletepath. As athletes register, they’re able to seamlessly share their upcoming race across social networks. Meanwhile athletes’ friends and followers are instantly notified and encouraged to “wish them luck” before the race and join in, and send them congratulations and “high fives” afterward.
“Athletepath is dedicated to connecting athletes and all of their friends to their favorite events. Additionally, we have a history of helping over 80% of events realize double-digit growth, increased community engagement, and in many cases sell-out months earlier than ever before. Our partnership with Challenge Triathlon is wonderfully aligned for Athletepath because both companies are so dedicated to providing a superior experience for athletes.” – David Embree, Athletepath Founder & CEO
On race day, athletes, friends and family will be notified via text, email or social media updates when the race starts, as their favorite athletes progress through the course, and when they finish. Throughout their journey, each supporter can publish “high fives”, “hugs” and write messages of encouragement to athletes directly through Athletepath.
Launched in November 2011 by triathlete and event manager David Embree, Athletepath pioneers a new social media platform for events. It gives athletes a socially connected event experience and helps race directors broaden event awareness and increase participation. Athletepath powers community event discovery and sharing, a truly social registration experience, and personalized statistics for racers to delve into their history to recognize accomplishments. More than 1.5 million athletes use the system. More than 6,000 events have used the system, including the Hood to Coast Relay, the Portland Triathlon, and the 35,000-runner adidas Shamrock Run.
