New Zealand label Supper Club Wines quality and connection with the 1940 -1950’s era is proving a highly successful combination. The label’s 2012 Pinot Noir has just been stamped ‘highly recommended’, by worldwide wine publication Decanter, an accolade, which would make many larger labels envious.
Earlier in 2013, the label was shortlisted in the top fifteen of the Winestars World final, which was hosted at the London International Wine Fair. The Dragon’s Den-style competition aims to win listings for innovative new wines by enabling their producers to pitch their ideas to leading buyers for UK supermarkets and wine importers. Add this to a collection of positive critical reviews attained throughout the year mean that the label is batting above its weight.
Supper Club Wines draws it's inspiration from the late night Supper Clubs of London during the 1940’s and 50’s, where patrons could dine, drink and dance in less formal surroundings. Supper Club Wines currently has two classic regional wines in its New Zealand portfolio - a Central Otago Pinot Noir, and a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
