A tender to pipe Huxley drain in Pahiatua has been awarded to Infracon Tararua with work to start early in the New Year.

Piping the drain which runs in front of PPCS Park will be good news for the Bush Multisports Trust which put its case for an improvement during last year’s consultation to the LTCCP (Long Term Council Community Plan).

Infracon’s $565,000 tender was the best of three, manager district assets Stephen Taylor said.

Meanwhile Infracon will begin upgrades to the Woodville treatment plant before Christmas and later to the Eketahuna plant.

This will be phase one of the upgrade and work will include improvements to site access, installation of power, pumps, flow meters and inlet screening plus repairs to the existing pond wave bands at Woodville. The work is being undertaken to meet the requirements of the Resource Consents. The total value of the work is $1,318,950.
