Snowplanet is an indoor snow recreation centre in Silverdale on the Hibiscus Coast in New Zealand and is New Zealand's first indoor snow facility. The snowdome, approximately 40 x 200 metres and built on the side of a hill, features 50 centimetres of real snow (man-made), three tows, a terrain park for freestyle skiers and snowboarders and a separate learners slope.
Snowplanet provides ski rentals and lessons, with a wide range of programmes for all abilities, and offers group bookings for schools and businesses. It also has a small store that sells gloves, helmets and socks and offers a range of off-snow services, including a restaurant and licensed bar, meeting and conference facilities.
With the July School Holidays over Snowplanet are still encouraging families to visit in August, especially since we are still in the depths of winter! They have a number of targeted promotions in the market as well as offering great prices on family passes and combo passes http://snowplanet.co.nz/snow-passes/ as well as an awesome selection of yummy food in their restaurant http://snowplanet.co.nz/about-us/restaurant-bar/7-summits-restaurant/ .
Nights at Snowplanet are going great so by popular demand they have brought back their Sunday to Thursday night pass http://snowplanet.co.nz/night-promotions/ and Night Rider http://snowplanet.co.nz/night-rider/ . Both these combo products come in at under $30 and are great value, regardless of the day of the week!
In June and July Snowplanet ran a trial concession on their Freestyle Fridays. This has proved so popular that for August they have decided to run this cool 6-hour pass starting at 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. They have also given it a cool name too – Ride Tribe. Check it out http://snowplanet.co.nz/specials/ride-tribe/ .
Snowplanet have now launched their Christmas campaign and are starting to take group Christmas bookings http://snowplanet.co.nz/snowplanet-for-businesses/christmas-functions/ . This year they are offering a “Pick n’ Mix” where groups “Pick” a restaurant option and then “Mix” in a snow activity for those that are so inclined.
The Snowplanet team advise that Christmas will be very special this year as they have an awesome 12m Magic Castle on the snow. Santa will be there with his Elves from the 22nd November and this will truly be the coooooolest Santa visit in the Southern Hemisphere. Intending visitors are recommended to book a group visit at night and the Snowplanet Elves will serve them Ice Cocktails in the snow before enjoying some awesome tubing fun from the Magic Castle!
