Following on from the hugely successful 2013 tour of New Zealand, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters are back by popular demand for a six-city tour in June 2015.

The Harlem Globetrotters features some of the greatest athletes and entertainers on the planet, and they are bringing their unrivaled family experience to New Zealand and Australia as part of the Harlem Globetrotters 2015 “Washington Generals’ Revenge” World Tour.

The Globetrotters will face a great challenge this year, as the infamous Washington Generals are more determined than ever to match the franchise’s historic last victory over the Globetrotters in 1971.

It has been five years since the Globetrotters and Generals have faced off, as the Generals have been searching far and wide for the best players to retool their roster and have been preparing for one thing: victory over the Globetrotters.

Big crowds saw the Harlem Globetrotters perform in their successful 2013 tour of New Zealand.  “The joy the team gave to crowds in New Zealand two years ago was something special to see. On and off the court they were able to bring smiles to crowds around the country and we know this will happen again. The players who were here in 2013 are keen to come back, while the new players have heard so much about New Zealand that they can’t wait to get here.

We know there will be another positive response to the tour. They are great athletes and great ambassadors to sport for the whole family and word has got around about how entertaining they are. We are going to some new parts of the country which will also be a buzz too,” said Suzanne Cannell, Tour Organiser from On The Road Events.

Hamilton will be the first game in New Zealand in 2015 with a Friday night spectacular June 5th at the Claudelands Arena. Hamilton is one of the new locations to be included on the tour which didn’t have a game two years ago. There is a strong basketball following in the region and it is hoped fans will come out in droves to watch the Globetrotters.

Auckland will have two games on Saturday 6th June with a matinee game which is ideal for the younger kids and a evening game at 7.30pm. Both shows are at the home of basketball, the North Shore Events Centre. Tickets can be purchased from iticket.co.nz

Wellington features the following day in the centre of the city at the TSB Arena, check ticketek.co.nz for tickets.

Queenstown gets its chance to show its support for one of the world’s most recognized sports teams on Wednesday 10th June at the Queenstown Event Centre. However the town should watch out as the Harlem Globetrotters arrive a day earlier and are keen to see the sights around Queenstown and talk about them to the world.

Invercargill is next on Thursday 11th June at ILT Stadium and is a new addition to the Globetrotters calendar from 2013.

The New Zealand leg of the tour finishes in Christchurch with two shows at Horncastle Arena on Sunday 14th June at 2.30pm and 7.30pm before the Globetrotters depart for a tour of Australia and then South Africa.
