Advanced Security Group takes Supreme Award at 2015 AUT Excellence in Business Support Awards
Advanced Security Group won the Supreme Award at the 2015 AUT Excellence in Business Support Awards. The company also won the IBM Business $5M-$20M Turnover Award, the business expects to hit $23M of revenue within the next year. Advanced Security's sister company ASGSPL, its secure facility integrator business, was also a separate finalist.
The Awards were celebrated with a gala dinner at the Langham Hotel, Auckland on 29 October, attended by more than 600 business leaders and members of the business community. A full list of 2015 category winners is below.
The Awards are the only national performance measure for New Zealand organisations that provide business support. Applications are judged by evaluators from the AUT Business School with oversight from the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation.
“Advanced Security Group (ASG) has consistently produced an excellent set of financial results over a sustained period, with strong growth in revenue, profits and capital. A detailed business plan identifies key results areas and key performance indicators which are communicated to all staff. The company’s information systems allow it to instantly track performance in both breadth and depth. They have very close contact on an ongoing basis with their clients, which include major corporates and state agencies. Some of them have been clients for over a decade and they provide ASG with highly positive oral and written feedback. They continue to impress as a company that wishes to extend itself through constant growth and improvement in business support,” said category evaluator and AUT Senior Lecturer in Management Dr Roy Smollan.
ASG CEO Mike Marr commented that: “the recognition at the Awards was significant for the business and was a reflection of the considerable contribution that the ASG employees make every day. These awards make us stop, reflect and review what we have achieved, allowing us to revise and reshape our future direction”.
AUT Dean of Business and Law, Professor Geoff Perry said: “These Awards are important to AUT because they allow us to recognise the best providers of business support in New Zealand. Business support organisations and individuals make a significant but often unseen contribution to the performance of businesses, helping behind the scenes with everything from dispute resolution, research and legal services to security, compliance and logistics. This celebration of the business support sector is a great opportunity for the AUT Business and Law Schools to join with the business community and celebrate excellence.”
