It's getting closer and closer to the end of the year and that means it's nearly time for a rush of Lactic Turkey Events in January and February.

Both the Wild Moa Multisport Event/Off-Road Triathlon and the Cadbury Moro Madness Multi-Lap Off-Road Relay have early bird incentives to enter in the next couple of weeks.

To make use of the early bird entry fees for Wild Moa (a saving of $25 in the Multisport event and $20 in the Triathlon) entries must be received by the 17th December...[enter Wild Moa here]. The Wild Moa Multisport event and Off-Road Triathlon is on the 12th January. This year as well as the usual Multisport event, the Lactic Turkey Events team have decided to open the event up to a larger audience and offer a swim section as an alternative to the kayak section - hence the Wild Moa Multisport Off-Road Triathlon. This should appeal to those that prefer to be in the water rather than on top of it! The 1km swim will start at the Tarawera Landing and follow a triangular course. Once the swim is completed the participants in the Wild Moa Off-Road Triathlon will continue on the same mountain bike and run course as their multisport colleagues who will have paddled from Lake Okataina to Lake Tarawera via the unique bush track portage (run 4km, kayak 7km, portage 1km and then kayak 9km). See below for details. Entered in the Wild Moa Triathlon already, is New Zealand Xterra and Mountain Bike representative, Mark 'Cabin' Leishman, so the field for the off-road Tri is hot already!

A week later is the Wild Turkey Off-Road Half Marathon is on the 19th January - Our fantastic run at Whatipu. The iconic run takes in some wild terrain including the Pararaha Stream, where participants will run over boulders and old Kauri dams, through rock pools, and up small waterfalls. Due to the popularity of this event and the fact that some of the area the event goes is designated as a Scientific Ecological Reserve, the Auckland Regional Council have asked that we place a limit of 300 competitors competing. Last year we filled well before the event so get your entry in early to guarantee a place. We have over 150 entries to date include some international visitors so it would pay to enter quickly to avoid missing out. Details below.

Then two weeks after that is the Cadbury Moro Madness Multi-Lap Off-Road Relay on the 9th February 2008. As the name suggests the Cadbury Moro Madness is an off-road running/walking relay. Teams of 2-5 people (or solo people) complete as many laps as possible in 8 hours (one person on the course at a time). More details are below, but if you enter before the 20th December you can make enjoy the $10 per person discount, go in the draw for a large Cadbury Hamper for each team member and you get to choose your preferred tent site! Also if you've done the event in the past and bring along another team (as well as yours) then you'll get 2 free person entries in your team.

Stuck for what to get your friend, family, partner, or kids for Christmas - how about giving them a Turkey Voucher to enter one of our events. Just fill in the on-line form ...[here] and we'll email them your gift. It can be for a particular event (maybe you want to challenge them to a duel!) or you can nominate an amount to be spent on any event

The Turkey Survey - we're just putting the finishing touches to our Annual Turkey Survey to find out from you how we can improve Lactic Turkey Events. We're always looking to improve our services so would love your feedback. Everyone that completes the survey will go in the draw to win an "All you can Eat Turkey" voucher. Free individual entries to any and all of our events in 2008! We'll send out an email next week with the link to the survey so start thinking about what we could do better.

Cheers and we'll see you in January
