Student Job Search are finalists for the Wellington Gold Awards, which will prove beneficial to prospective employers, making work that much easier this winter. Employers can advertise their jobs for FREE on the Student Job Search website and have access to over 200,000 tertiary students looking for jobs in new zealand.

With more than 30 years’ experience working with New Zealand businesses and household employers, Student Job Search can help them find, screen and shortlist candidates to set them up for the winter months. Whether its help in the home or a part-time graphic design role that needs to be filled, Student Job Search are sure to have a student that can help them out.

As a case in point, AsCity Fitness are just one of the employers who have benefitted from advertising on Student Job Search. At the beginning of last year, Travis Kerr, Manager at City Fitness was on the hunt for a part time Receptionist to replace a long standing employee who was off overseas, and the first place that came to Travis’ mind to advertise was Student Job Search (SJS), which was a decision made based on the fact that it was “effective, free and so simple to use”. He also thought “the Receptionist role was perfect for students looking for part time work”. Travis explained that he’s always known SJS, probably because he remembers them being the perfect place to go to when looking for jobs in his student days at Massey University.

After a couple of weeks from posting the job on the website, Jazz Thornton was hired as the part time Receptionist. Jazz said, “I was on the SJS website desperately looking for any kind of job as I had just finished studying at a performing arts school but needed to get a normal job pronto”.

Since starting, Jazz has been promoted twice, first to Reception Supervisor, and then by mid-last year she said, “I became the youngest club manager among all 22 City Fitness clubs nationwide.” She further explained, “I have had the opportunity to gain experience I never thought possible and have been able to gain amazing qualifications in REPS and Skills Active purely by applying as a receptionist and quickly growing into different roles.” Jazz contacted SJS to let them know her story and said, “I recommend Student Job Search to every single student I know looking for a job and without you guys - I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

SJS then got in contact with Travis, the hiring Manager, he told them, “I was satisfied with the service and end result, and would recommend and use SJS again”.
