So you have found the love of your life, decided that she is the one and now all you have to do is ask her to spend the rest of her life with you. Simple huh? Except for one thing; a massive part of your proposal is the engagement ring, and, let's be honest here, most of us wouldn't have the first clue about how to buy an engagement ring.

This is where the team at Jewellers Workshop come in, as they specialise in creating beautiful custom crafted engagement rings, and will help guide you in designing an engagement ring that is unique and special to you, for a beautiful piece that is made to last for a lifetime. All of their jewellery is made using a range of techniques by their talented jewellers in their on-site Auckland workshop.

Buying an engagement ring is actually quite simple and far less daunting when you know how, but there are a few things you need to know when learning about how to buy an engagement ring. When you visit Jewellers Workshop, the first thing they will ask you is what sort of style and setting you are thinking about.

What they really want to know is, what do you want your ring to look like?

You are only limited by your imagination, but as a starting point there is the Solitaire, the traditional favourite, and for this type of style the way that the diamond is set is really important to the look of your ring.

Then there is the three stone ring, with a main diamond that is flanked by two smaller diamonds, representing the past, the present and the future. Similarly, the sidestone ring where the diamond is flanked by two or more small diamonds that are set into the band.

Jewellers Workshop will explain that ‘The Three C’s’ come into play when choosing a diamond. The first is cut, which is how the diamond has been processed, and determines the ‘sparkle’. The second ‘c’ is clarity, which indicates how many flaws or inclusions your diamond has, and the third ‘c’ is colour, where less is best. Diamonds can range from clear (D) to dark yellow (Z).

When you know how to buy an engagement ring you will find that it is so much easier to find the perfect ring and get it at a great price, and at Jewellers Workshop they will give you the opportunity to make your engagement much more unique by designing your own ring, so to find out more, please visit the website at http://www.jewellersworkshop.co.nz .
