Celebrating Tech In The Bay
Techweek Tauranga, our city’s first festival of technology, is about to kick off and Celebratech is one of the events innovation enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
Happening on Friday, 12 May from 6.30pm at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology’s Windermere campus, Celebratech is a celebration of all things technical and innovative and will feature “Tech in Five” – five minute demonstrations of the new technologies being explored, researched and developed in our own backyard.
Jo Allen from Venture Centre says the event will be one that will appeal to a broad audience.
“The range of presentations at Celebratech include some of the most exciting technology around. The event should appeal to students, investors and technophiles alike.”
Those into gadgets won’t want to miss R&D legend and CEO of Ubco bikes, Tim Allen, as he presents on the next generation of digitally-connected electric bikes. Equally cool is Sam Marshall from Inverse and his discovery of treating hair at sub-zero temperatures.
360 video fans will be intrigued to see how the technology is being used by Eye-Fly’s Bruce Bartley and Toi Ohomai’s Josh Burrell. Mark Wilcox from Nyraid will present on big data and the blockchain and Matt Watkins from Onesixone will demonstrate SoundSwitch – a software-hardware designed to brighten up DJs’ lives by integrating DMX lighting with live audio.
