LoadScan offers payload scanner based load management solutions for various industries from the mining, construction, mulch & biomass, quarry & sandpit sectors. Tritton Copper mine operation in Nyngan NSW Australia, Newmont Waihi Gold in New Zealand and Oceana’s Fraser Underground Gold Mine in Dunedin New Zealand are mines that have installed LoadScan’s Load Volume Scanner (LVS) payload measurement system and found at least a 10% increase in trucking factors.

LoadScan has seen significant growth in recent times as the demand for volumetric scanning technology, a new and accurate method of measuring loads is constantly increases. The scanner offers top end, reliable and accurate scanning technology with excellent service and support from the company.

Newmont Waihi Gold, New Zealand, has been enjoying increased efficiency ever since a LoadScan Load Volume Scanner became part of operations in 2013. Underground Manager, Charlie Gawith said, “This is a case of 10 per centre more rock being moved for the same cost. A 10 percent increase in total movement in a year is a huge increase in efficiency”.

The Load Volume Scanner provides 3D imagery which helps mining managers to maximize load carrying and minimise the number of loads needed. This service is invaluable in making mining operations efficient and ultimately profitable. Increased trucking factors enables maximum loads, minimising wear and tear on the big trucks, increasing cycle times thus decreasing number of trips leading to big savings and higher profits in the mining industry.

Aeris Resources, Tritton Copper mine operation in Nyngan NSW purchased and installed a Load Volume Scanner to overcome problems caused due to consistent inaccuracies with the previous payload measurement system used to track daily ore production. Matthew Gouldstone from Tritton Mine said, “The level of detail obtained by the LVS is impressive to everyone who has used the software. Overall the return on investment has been extremely quick, within the first full month after installation the LVS has paid for itself.”

Oceana’s Fraser Underground Gold Mine in Dunedin New Zealand installed a LVS system in 2010. The system’s accurate volume measurements were converted to metric tonnes by using the known Specific Gravity of the material hauled. This system also enabled the management to determine maximum and ultimate payload capacity of the haulers. The mine reported an increase in trucking factors which in turn increased production giving them a ROI within weeks.

LoadScan will be present at the upcoming Elko Mining Expo in Nevada in June. In August, they will be at AIMEX, the Asia Pacific International Mining Exhibition held at Sydney and in September they will be at the Mining Indonesia Event held in Jakarta.
