We have all heard of Bartercard, and a good percentage of New Zealanders are Bartercard members, but for those of you who would like to know more, they now have a dedicated resource in the guise of their Ask Bartercard website at www.askbartercard.co.nz .

At Ask Bartercard they have found that many people have the same queries about what Bartercard is and what it isn’t, so they want to make sure people have the right information to allow them to make informed decisions about joining the Bartercard community, and can help spread the word about the Bartercard network and the benefits it can bring to a business. It isn’t just corporate speak; Ask Bartercard has been set up to allow real people to ask real questions and receive real answers.

Once registered, simply type in your question at the top of the page and you’ll receive a response within 48 hours (with the exception of weekends and public holidays when it may take longer to respond). You can also check out their FAQ to see if your question has already been answered. These have been compiled from the most common queries they have received previously, including “Are goods more expensive if you purchase them on Bartercard?”

Bartercard recommend users register to use their site using a social login. Social login, also known as social sign-in, is a form of single sign-on using existing information from a social networking service such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Google+. This is instead of creating a new login account specifically for the use on this website. It is designed to simplify the login process for you as well, as you won’t be required to remember your username or password. Social login also provides more reliable demographic information to Ask Bartercard.  If you prefer, you can login using an email address where you will be prompted for your name and email address.

Ask Bartercard has a panel of staff and Bartercard members who review and assist with answering your questions, and once your question is submitted, it will be reviewed by their panel. You will receive notification of the answer before it is published. Not all answers will be made public. In the unlikely event that your question contains profanity, is offensive towards another member, isn’t constructive to help develop a better network, or they deem it unsuitable for publishing, you will be notified, however your question/answer will be kept on record.
