Premier Wellington homestaging company HomeStaged works with agents to transform properties into a welcoming living space that will boost the asking price and get in multiple offers. At a presentation for buyers and sellers organised by property agency Harcourts, owner and designer of HomeStaged Megan Hand said home owners should be prepared to go that extra mile to achieve the top price. “All the best real estate agents will suggest getting Wellington home staging done. They know it works.” she said.

HomeStaged provides a full home staging service which starts first with a consultation. Working alongside agents and home owners HomeStaged will assess the home, take photographs, make a note of the style, era, décor and anything else that stands out about a property. Megan understands that property agents know their target market and will work with them to strategise the interior design. With all the information gathered HomeStaged will create a staging look that will have buyers keen to view the property. “I have a background in floristry which helps me come up with exciting colour combinations that work. I love to work with modern neutral colours but dated décor like 70’s orange curtains or peach formica bathrooms doesn’t phase me – I can make any of that old décor seem perfectly liveable with the use of modern accessories and the right colour combinations,” said Megan.

In order to achieve a fast installation, HomeStaged will design and plan all the rooms beforehand.  “Often we will stage a whole house in the morning and be done in time for the photographer to arrive after lunch. We like to have minimal downtime between set up and photography so that our sellers get the full benefit of the staging package,” said Megan.

HomeStaged keeps up with the latest interior design and real estate trends. Their work ensures the staging work is done efficiently and beautifully. The team at HomeStaged collaborates with the homeowner and agents to envision a marketable and appealing space that can be transformed quickly. Their eye to detail will ensure that buyers can see the home’s true potential. “I find that every property has certain features that someone will be searching for and I’m passionate about making each property shine on its own merits and because we customise each job, no two stages of ours will ever look exactly the same,” said Megan.

Megan works with vacant properties and does partial home staging as well. “If you are an owner occupier and you have an empty room or junk rooms or if your furniture and accessories aren’t giving off the right vibe for the type of buyers you are trying to attract, then you need to get me over to see how we can work together to get it looking like it belongs in a house and garden magazine rather than an episode of hoarders,” she said.

The packages are for a timeframe of up to five weeks which is usually more than enough time to get the photos done, market the listing online, conduct open homes and then for the sale to go through.

HomeStaged has been working in the Wellington region and Hutt Valley areas for four years and have plenty of experience in different types of properties from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom mansions, brand new homes and dated décor disasters.

Interior design company HomeStaged arranges professional home staging for agents, developers and homeowners that is customised to their space and needs. For more information: https://www.homestaged.co.nz/. For homestaging queries contact Megan Hand on 021 2942837 or email megan@homestaged.co.nz
