Watercraft World Super Centre Announce 2018 Melanoma NZ Ski-NZ

The 2018 Melanoma Ski-NZ ride is on from 25 February through to 3 March 2018.  Six day and 700 kilometres of adrenalin packed adventure on your jet-ski, travelling through some of the most amazing coastline and scenery in New Zealand. Participants will experience an action-packed and fun filled week as they navigate the coastline northbound from Akaroa to Wellington. A day off will be planned in Blenheim. On the way, riders will be taking in amazing sights and raise funds to help Melanoma NZ to prevent avoidable deaths from melanoma and provide support for New Zealanders affected. Participants can expect to ride to many iconic spots on the way with a like-minded group of adventurers … all in the name of fun and FUNdraising!

As you can expect with NZ climate The Plan is subject to our crazy summer weather. Ski-NZ has so far been lucky in the past with weather, losing only five days out of 38 planned. It is always possible that a particular event could be quite adversely affected by weather. The decision to ride or not on any given day rests with the Event Director and his management team. In the event that a ride is cancelled on any given day, other activities will be planned and there may be an option to make up for lost time on the following days.

Safety is the first priority for Melanoma NZ Ski-NZ. Travelling with you on Ski-NZ will be an experienced team, including medical support, mechanics, PWC experts and on-water recovery crews. A support boat will be provided when it is thought necessary for safety and at other times if one is available, and in keeping with the high safety standards and given that this event is helping to promote awareness of melanoma, participants will be required to wear a life jacket, full face helmet, eye protection, gloves, shoes, and a full length rash suit or wet suit for sun protection.

To be eligible for the Melanoma NZ Ski-NZ event, personal watercraft must be sit down, not stand up and must be newer than 2008.  They also have a package deal available for NZ Corporate Teams which covers jet-ski hire and training for your team.
