When calculating the required number of downpipes on either a new home or existing, Three65 use a successful rule of thumb being a 65mm downpipe is required for 65m2 of roof space a 80mm downpipe is required for every 80m2 of roof space and so on. If you require square or rectangular downpipes for design purposes be aware they can be noisy so positioning and cladding options should be taken into account.
