Claris Group introduces Claris@Work Regular Skin Checks at Your Workplace
The Claris Group believes prevention and early detection is essential for the prompt diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. There is no other way to detect skin cancer but to look for them. Education and empowering people with awareness and understanding on the importance of self-skin examination each month and regular skin checks, is Claris Group’s mission.
In 2016 Dr Reeves was asked to do her first visit outside her clinic in the work place environment. The skin checks were so successful that after applying the same system she used at her clinic, word of mouth spread and more companies began to reach out, inviting her to perform skin checks in small medium and large corporates in the Auckland region.
In 2017 the team traveled to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Rotorua, Hamilton and Whangarei. Claris diagnosed 190 melanomas in that year alone by visiting people in the work place; people who never thought or had the time to have a head to toe skin check found themselves with a melanoma diagnosis. 190 people were saved because of those visits; 190 families did not loose a loved one, because of the skin checks.
During 2017 - 2018 Dr Reeves decided to incorporate new technology to her mole analysis, using artificial intelligence such as Dermengine from MetaOptima smart skin analytics (2017) and SIAscopy V scanner mole analysis from Medx Health (2018). Both technologies from Canada and FDA approved, along with dermoscopy, has allowed her to make her mole analysis more accurate and faster with immediate results. The technologies identify suspicious moles within seconds, and the main goal is to reduce unnecessary follow ups and surgery, as well as operating on moles and blemishes that will actually harm the life of her patients.
Claris@Work was created this year as a formal program that combines education and early detection in each visit, from seminars to entire groups, to ‘face to face’ education. The team will come to your workplace and provide you with an excellent comprehensive service, and their technology facilitates communication between them and your employees. They have also built strong relationships with GPs, allowing a partnership of care between Claris and the community.
Claris Group want to save lives by providing a service that is safe, easy and accessible. Many companies are creating wellness programmes, and skin checks is something that Dr Reeves would like to see as part of these programmes. Many employers don’t seem to think this is relevant, and the ones who do, put more emphasis on providing cardiovascular risk assessments, mental health and flu vaccine campaigns. Dr Reeves’ goal is to change that with Claris@Work, and wants to be the first company to provide exclusively skin cancer screening and education for small, medium and large companies.
The team’s visits can provide you with peace of mind, and help you built a robust sun protection system, providing assessment reports for your employees. Claris also provides continuation of care with qualified experienced Plastic Surgeons and non-surgical treatments for the treatment of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers, so for more information on skin doctors, skin cancer clinics and skin clinics please go to https://claris.co.nz/clariswork/
