Give Plants gifts come in their own specifically designed cardboard box with a personalized gift card, and as Jonathan Beale of Auckland confirms, “What a wonderful gift to receive. The excitement of opening the box to reveal the plant was an experience in itself. It’s a gift that keeps on giving and will always be a great talking point and focal point to remember.”

Give Plants have designed their own corrugated cardboard boxes, which come in two sizes. They’re made from 68% recycled paper and the rest is from sustainable trees grown in New Zealand. The boxes are fully recyclable and are designed to protect the plant during delivery, by locking the plant in place. They also look smart when they’re delivered. The boxes open easily and have slots inside to allow a greeting card to be added without the need to use glue or extra packaging.

Each plant is placed inside a plastic bag that is secured to prevent soil loss and to retain the moisture that the plant needs. Large size plants are then tucked into handy, drawstring tote bags. Finally, both large and small plants are secured into their boxes for safe delivery.

When you receive your plant, remove from the box. Lifting by the pot, not the plant, take out of the plastic bag, and do not keep it in the bag or your plant’s roots will begin to rot. Indoor plants come in an indoor pot that ready to put in a medium to well-lit spot in your home.  Water with ½-1 cup weekly depending on the warmth of its position.

Outdoor plants need to be planted into a larger outdoor pot or in the garden ASAP, although if the soil is kept moist it will be fine in its pot for up to a month.

Further specific care instructions relating to your variety of plant are on the tag attached to the plant.

Plants need light, air and water to remain healthy and green. On receiving your gift, it is best to open the box immediately and keep it open until you are ready to give your gift. Carefully pour ½ cup of water into the plastic bag; this should be sufficient water for up to three days provided your plant in not in full sun.
