LED video walls have continued on their path of exponential success and ubiquity. Their development in the modern age can be attributed to their smoothly continuous transmission of information, and extreme adaptability. LED panels are unique in that they can be implemented in a wide variety of ways, and no two installations need be the same. They can scale to any size without sacrificing definition, they can be set up in or out-doors, and they can be made transparent.

These reasons are why LED walls continue to take centre stage at major events, concerts, demonstrations and exhibits, just to name a few applications. Despite their usage on a massive scale, they remain an effective and efficient option for retail environments.

LED is an acronym which stands for Light Emitting Diode. LEDs are solid-state materials, as opposed to other, filament-based lights. This means its lifespan can be as long as 100,000 hours, and the energy used is much more efficient that common bulbs. Even though they use less power, they are more readily able to achieve bright colours and rich definition when laid out in a screen, which makes them perfectly suited for outdoor marketing. Even in contest with the sun, and a range of other shifting weather conditions, LEDs are visible and legible.

As they are technically a sheet of connected lights, LED video walls are able to be custom fitted to any size or shape. They can be fitted to a specific wall, or even curved in order to be mounted on rounded surfaces – the interior of a circular room, for example.

What’s more, the screens are able to be made transparent, so that it seems like images are appearing in the air. This is an exciting new way, that many creatives are finding unique ways to apply to their marketing campaigns.
