Gaze Commercial Engage New Registered Architect

We have some great people who have dedicated their lives and passion for something they enjoy, and we simply can’t do it without the team”, and to this end they have recently appointed a new Registered Architect to head up their design studio.

Raja Hidzir is Gaze Commercial’s Design Studio Manager/Principal Architect, and his role is as Principal Architect, responsible for managing the design studio, including staffing, programming, design delivery, costings and technical requirements. This role also includes the creative and technical review of projects, ensuring all design and technical requirements have been addressed.

Prior to his appointment Raja held principal and associate director positions in leading architectural practices in Wellington and Auckland. These roles encompass all facets of architectural services from concept design through to construction. His experience includes complex building refurbishment works and new commercial, corporate interiors, multi-unit residential, industrial, community and educational projects, some of which received the NZIA and ADNZ design awards. These range from commercial offices, and university buildings to courthouses, fire stations and warehouses which typically involved occupied and operational sites. Key to his experience in these types of projects are his knowledge and skill in dealing with existing structures and building services, and mitigation of risks involved.

With more than 20 years of projects experience in New Zealand and globally, Raja offers a huge amount of experience in his role at Gaze Commercial. This appointment is part of their strategy to rejuvenate their studio and to provide a wider design service from an architectural standpoint.
