Fencelab is promoting their aluminium fencing range Orbison that make swimming pools safer. Customers who have a swimming pool on the property, will find this time of the year is ideal to start preparing a fence installation.

Pools are very popular during the summer. However, when building a fence, it must be designed with functionality in mind. Not only does it need to serve its role in support and protection (especially from kids), but the fence must also keep debris, such as branches, out of the area.

Customers who live in an area with a lot of wildlife, the fence must be impenetrable from the outside. Furthermore, the height and structure of the fencing must comply with pool health and safety regulations. Fencelab provide a range of pool fencing styles, all made from durable and rust-resistant materials.

With simple clean lines and light weight construction Orbison is one of the most economical choice for residential applications. Drowning is a major cause of accidental deaths of young children in New Zealand and happen in residential homes, in unfenced or inadequately fenced pools, spa pools and hot tubs. New Zealand continues to have the highest rate of youth drownings among OECD countries, at almost twice the rate of Australia. Unless adequate barriers are in place between the pool and areas ordinarily frequented by the child, it is unavoidable that small children will occasionally escape from supervision and be exposed to the risk of drowning.

Legislation requires that safety barriers are essential to restrict access to swimming pools for young children, and also specifies the requirements for the design, construction and performance of the fences, gates, retaining walls and all structures that are intended to form an effective barrier

Orbison’s design is pool safety compliant at 1.2m high and balustrade compliant at 1.2 post centers with PS1 certificates available on the website. Pool safety legislation states all swimming pools must have a physical barrier that restrict access and should be regularly inspected every three years.
