DB Interiors has repurposed tonnes of used furniture over the last six months, and have worked with All Heart NZ, repurposing approximately 23 tonnes of office furniture going to new homes. For example they recently sent two tonnes of furniture to a school in Nandi, Fiji.

As they say at DB Interiors, “We love making a difference. Can you help add to the cause? If you have any unwanted corporate items such as furniture or tech equipment, instead of contributing to landfill and waste – contact us and we will see how we can work out a positive solution that will greatly affect the environment and community.”

For some reason, many people believe that office furniture can only be sent to the landfill, but there are far better, more sustainable options available. Office furniture is actually largely recyclable, and that, with minimal planning, it can be sold as second-hand furniture or donated as is. It can also be refurbished or eventually, recycled. Keeping furniture out of the landfill reduces solid waste, the extraction of raw materials, and the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing new pieces.

In terms of emphasis on sustainability, this approach also sends a message to show that your company is serious about environment conservation and waste reduction, and the finshed product, as we can see from DB Interiors’ example, can be very successfully used for charitable purposes.

DB Interiors is a progressive business, with traditional values, working closely with their customers, and getting to understand their objectives before creating office fit-out and refurbishment solutions.
