Radius Care has 22 locations around New Zealand, employing over 1500 staff and providing professional aged care for more than 1700 residents, and this month we take a look at one of their four locations in Hamilton and at one of the two in Tauranga.

Windsor Court located in Sandes Street, Ohaupo, Hamilton offers Retirement Village lifestyle with an option of rest home and respite care. This Lifestyle Village provides a place that residents are proud to call their home. Set in immaculately maintained rural gardens, overlooking Mount Pirongia, close to Hamilton and Te Awamutu and existing communities, residents can easily retain their ties with their families, friends and community groups, and of course develop new friendships within the village.

By providing a range of options in their Village, they can cater to the requirements of each individual resident and any circumstances that might change over time, during their time living in the Village. Units have new carpet and have recently been redecorated throughout. The units also have tinted windows and a heat pump, and a new walk in shower which provides easy access. The village also offers an (optional) activities programme, creating the ability to live an active and entertaining lifestyle.

Radius Althorp is located at Pyes Pa in Tauranga, just 20 minutes from popular Mt Maunganui beach. Integrating rest home, hospital, respite, dementia, and palliative care, Radius Althorp sets the benchmark for aged care when a residential solution is required.

Radius Althorp’s healthcare is all encompassing, putting people first, and their inpatient service offers respite care, palliative care, rehabilitation and long term aged residential care at Hospital, Rest Home, Dementia and Psychogeriatric levels. They also offer outpatient services to the general public, including a physiotherapy assessment and treatment (both ACC and non-ACC), and hydrotherapy. They offer Tai Chi classes and Keep On Your Feet strength and balance classes to assist with any pain issues, and to keep everyone in top form.

Their dedicated activities coordinators keep residents engaged and busy with regular indoor activities, as well as museum and “Big Day Out” beach outings, ice creams on the boardwalk, exploring local parks, garden walks, sightseeing, and even train rides and the odd spot of cricket.

Because light plays a vital role in the health of their residents and staff, they ensure all rooms offer plenty of natural lighting. Each wing has spacious living areas, where residents, family and friends can gather. They are aged care specialists, and pride themselves in providing an excellent standard of nursing and care services to their residents, their families and whānau, so for more information on Aged Care Providers, retirement homes and retirement communities please go to http://radiuscare.co.nz .
