Canopy North Shore has opened a state of the art clinic built based on international best practice and patient feedback. The new clinic is located at 213 Shakespeare Rd in Takapuna, and the first patients were seen at the clinic on Friday 19th July 2019.
Canopy Cancer Care is a leading provider of private cancer treatment in New Zealand where patient care is at the heart of everything they do. Their dedicated Oncology and Haematology teams deliver world-class cancer treatment and care to adult and young adult patients.
This large new Takapuna practice is Canopy’s flagship clinic, supporting their clinics in Epsom, Tauranga and also Whangarei. A new clinic in Whangarei is also due to open at 121 Bank Street in August 2019.
There are few people in New Zealand who haven’t been touched by cancer, whether they have experienced it themselves, or had a loved one diagnosed with cancer, and Canopy’s aim is to provide the highest quality of care in New Zealand, supporting the public services to ensure better outcomes for all cancer patients and their whanau.
They achieve this through active collaboration with the public sector. Oncologists spend the majority of their time working in our public hospitals, and by working in both sectors, quality initiatives and efficiencies can be translated between the two sectors. A number of Canopy’s doctors, including Dr Ben Lawrence and Professor Michael Findlay are also directly involved in cancer research, ultimately working towards better diagnosis and treatment options.
Supporting their clinical treatments, Canopy have also developed a number of quality initiatives for their patients and their whanau. “Under the Canopy” is a comprehensive umbrella of services, including physiotherapy, dietary advice, massage and emotional support to ensure that their patients whole wellbeing is addressed. “Canopy TV” is a video series that provides interesting and topical information about cancer using patient stories and the knowledge and insights of New Zealand based experts.
