For most men, daily deodorant is a must. But for some, the chemicals and additives in aerosol deodorant can irritate the skin. For those looking for a solution to stay smelling fresh, without harming the skin, natural deodorants could be the answer.

Solid deodorants are just like traditional deodorants in that they neutralise odour and eliminate bacteria, but they also tend to be easier on the skin. They’re also more sustainable, as they last longer, and it’s easier to package them sustainably.

Online cosmetics retailer, Zorilla, has been instrumental in bringing the new wave of men’s makeup to Australasia, and now they’ve added natural deodorant to their range. These men's natural deodorants are available in a fully compostable boxes, or a BPA free stick which lasts up to six months.

The deodorants contain NZ beeswax, coconut oil, and jojoba esters—a naturally occurring organic compound.

Jojoba is full of nutrients like Vitamin E and B, as well as antioxidants and minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc, which all nourish and protect skin. Organic cold-pressed jojoba oil has the highest level of antioxidants and nutrients possible.

The first deodorant is already on offer. “Vee” is enriched with Lemon myrtle, Lavandin (which is like lavender oil, but with a higher percentage of camphor), Peppermint, Spanish sage, Geranium and Tea Tree oils. It has anti-fungal, anti-microbial and antiseptic properties, and the sage reduces excessive sweating. The scent is citrus and mint, and is fresh and gender-neutral.

Zorilla has also included probiotics, to enhance the good bacteria and eliminate the bad.

Zorilla has just launched a second fragrance at the Wellington Healthy Living Show, “Ess”, containing Black Spruce, Ravensare, and Manuka. Ravensare is known as the superhero essential oil. Combined with the Black Spruce, this deodorant has a slightly more masculine and "woody" scent than Vee.

Zorilla has announced that they plan to release three more fragrances of their own design and making within the next two months.
