Williams Corporation Announces New Property Project in Riccarton

Property developers Williams Corporation have announced a new project in Riccarton. On their Facebook page the company has announced: “We will be releasing our highly sought after development on the corner of Riccarton Road and Deans Ave on the 11th of October 2019. Register your interest with our property consultants today, with the positive feedback we've been getting we don't expect this project to be on the market long!”

Located on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Deans Ave, this $23m dollar development wasreleased on October 11th. With 44 townhouses on the site by early 2021, the one, two and three bedroom houses, most with car parking, will soon be home to up to 150 people.

Williams Corporation strongly believes well-built townhouses and apartments are the future of New Zealand housing and a solution to the housing crisis. Riccarton is one of the Christchurch inner suburbs seeing high levels of townhouse and apartment construction due to new minimum-density zoning rules.

Williams Corporation co-managing director Matthew Horncastle said they hoped to build between 40 and 50 townhouses on the site by early 2021. Townhouse prices will range from “late 300s to late 500s”, depending on size and car parking, Horncastle said. The homes will have two and three bedrooms, some with car parks, and will be two or three storeys high.

“I think Riccarton is one our most undervalued suburbs in all of Christchurch and it is a great place where lots of people want to live, you are right by Hagley park, you have got the hospital, you have got the mall, you have got the city at your doorstep and you have got the uni, it is so incredibly placed,” says Mr Horncastle.

Williams Corporation is one of the city’s busiest apartment and townhouse developers, with about 30 complexes either under construction or completed in the central city and suburbs since the earthquakes.
