In partnership with Skills, and as an adjunct to their management programme, IMNZ offers in-house learning and development solutions for New Zealand businesses, and one of the short courses offered is Finance For Non-Financial Managers. This course is designed to help your people broaden their understanding of business finance.

This course is for anyone who plans, manages or reports on financial data and wants a broader understanding of business finance. You may not be a ‘numbers’ person, but you know you need to make better informed decisions. Whether you’re new to finance or you just need a refresher, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence you need to master the fundamentals, as all good managers must, to advance to the next stage of your management career. Anyone who plans, manages or reports on financial data and wants a broader understanding of business finance would benefit from this course.

The course will help you to understand the financial management cycle and process, understand the basics of planning and the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and will help you to develop budgets and understand the fundamentals of cost accounting, capital expenditure and depreciation. You will learn the importance of cash management, how to analyse and interpret financial accounts, and to conduct cost versus benefit analysis.
