Winchester Counselling specialise in working with couples online and face-to-face, to help them improve their marriages, especially those who are feeling the strain of living in this new COVID-19 world of lockdown and social distance.

As we are all experiencing, COVID-19 is having a significant impact on how we interact with others, go about our lives, our work, study and many other aspects of our lives. It is also creating a time of significant uncertainty. We know that a combination of stress and uncertainty can have significant and wide-reaching impacts on the mental wellbeing of people in New Zealand.

Winchester Counselling want people to know it is normal to not feel all right all the time – it’s understandable to feel sad, distressed, worried, confused, anxious or angry during this crisis. Everyone reacts differently to difficult events, and some may find this time more challenging than others. The ways people think, feel and behave are likely to change over time – we all have good days and bad days.

During this time, you may be looking for new or additional ways to help you feel mentally well and get through, and Winchester Counselling can assist you when you are feeling low. Similarly, those in relationships may be finding during the lockdown that they are experiencing negative interactions, causing conflict between them. Andrew will work with you individually to find a way through to reconnect you, to reduce the stress produced by such a long period of being shut in.

Sadly, many of us are also struggling with added stress or a growing sense of aloneness or fear as we spend every day in close confines with our partner. The intensity of being together all the time may be making you feel anxious, annoyed and frustrated, or worse, unloved and exhausted, and you may feel trapped and stressed about your ability to provide.

Winchester Counselling are offering secure online individual and couples therapy as we face the Coronavirus pandemic, so for more information on anxiety and stress counselling Christchurch, couple counselling and relationship conflict please go to https://winchestercounselling.co.nz .
