Hawkes Bay’s first private cancer clinic has opened in Hastings. Led by local medical oncologists, Drs Paula Barlow and Jody Jordan, the new Canopy Cancer Care clinic will broaden the medical oncology services currently available in the region and increase capacity for cancer management.
The Hawkes Bay team are delighted to be part of Canopy Cancer Care, New Zealand’s largest medical oncology provider, delivering cancer patients in Hawkes Bay and surrounding regions access to the world class treatment and care offered by Canopy.
“This new clinic will play an important role for local patients and their families who wish to receive private cancer care without having to travel long distances,” says Dr Jordan. “We are excited to provide patients with the highest standard of care and leading treatments in a local environment to ensure the best possible outcome.”
The services offered by the team in Hastings, will provide patients with greater choice in their treatment, giving access to therapies which are not available in the public health system. Patients will also benefit from Canopy’s integrated model of care, which includes direct access to a team of specialists who have a specific expertise across a wide range of cancers.
