Tiger Brokers (Nasdaq: TIGR), a leading online brokerage firm with a presence in New Zealand, has announced the launch of extended-hours US stock options trading on its flagship Tiger Trade platform across Tiger Brokers' licensed international markets.

Tiger Brokers is extending access to US stock options beyond regular trading hours, enabling investors in New Zealand and other markets to trade options on more than 20 popular US stocks during pre-market (7:30–9:25 a.m. ET, currently 12:30–2:25 a.m. NZ time the following day) and post-close (4:00–4:15 p.m. ET, currently 9:00–9:15 a.m. NZ time the following day) sessions.

The company is among the first brokers globally to offer the capability, the latest step in its push to give investors worldwide professional-grade tools and deeper access to international markets.

Acting on News as It Breaks

Many of the US market's biggest catalysts, from economic data to earnings results, land before the opening bell.

Until now, investors could react to that news in the underlying stock during pre-market trading, but their options positions on the same names stayed locked until 9:30 a.m. ET.

By the time the regular session opened, much of the market's reaction could already be underway. Extended hours close that gap, letting Tiger Trade clients adjust positions, hedge exposure or act on new opportunities as news breaks.

The pre-market Global Trading Hours (GTH) session runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. ET, giving investors nearly two hours of options trading ahead of the open.

The post-close Curb session, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET, adds a further window to respond to developments released shortly after the close, such as earnings announcements.

Together, the sessions cover options on some of the most actively traded names in the US market, which accounted for a significant proportion of average daily US-listed options volume in 2026 through September, according to Cboe Global Markets.

Exchange-Direct Access

Tiger Trade routes extended-hours options orders directly to US exchanges.

Compared with the over-the-counter market-maker model used by some brokers, connecting to exchange liquidity is designed to support deeper liquidity, more transparent pricing and greater trading flexibility, and may help lower trading costs for investors.

“As demonstrated by the demand for Cboe's proprietary index options outside of regular U.S. trading hours, global investors want the ability to trade and manage U.S. exposure closer to their daytime hours," says Rob Hocking, Global Head of Derivatives at Cboe Global Markets.

"The extended trading hours sessions now give Tiger Brokers clients in eligible jurisdictions access to some of the most actively traded single-stock options.”

At launch, the service covers options on more than 20 popular US stocks, including Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon and Meta.

Tiger Brokers plans to keep expanding the range of supported underlyings as it builds out Tiger Trade as a professional options trading platform.

Extended-hours options are available through the existing options tab on each eligible stock's page in Tiger Trade, with real-time US options quotes throughout the sessions.

After updating to the latest version of the app, users select a limit order and choose the "GTH+RTH+Curb" trading-hours setting when placing an options order.

Only limit orders are accepted outside regular trading hours. Clients new to options can practise with Tiger Trade's US$1,000,000 demo account before trading.

Rising Derivatives Activity Across a Global Platform

In the second quarter of 2026, options and futures contracts traded on Tiger Brokers' platform rose to 26.3 million, up 17.3% year-on-year and 9.6% quarter-on-quarter.

Extended-hours access adds to a series of recent upgrades for options traders on Tiger Trade, including multi-dimensional volatility analysis, take-profit and stop-loss orders for multi-leg strategies, and one-click stock-and-options combination trades.

Tiger Brokers also maintained strong momentum in its global business. As of 30 June 2026, total customer accounts reached approximately 2.74 million, while total client assets rose 16.7% year-on-year to US$60.7 billion.

With more than 10 million users worldwide, Tiger Brokers will continue to expand its products and services for global clients, bringing professional-grade tools and deeper market access to investors across markets and time zones.

Wu Tianhua, founder and CEO of Tiger Brokers, says major market developments frequently occur outside regular trading hours.

"Sometimes major events land before the open or after the close," he says.

"Earnings, economic data and global events break around the clock, and investors need to be able to respond right away.

"Pre-market and post-close options trading, combined with direct exchange access, lets our clients act in the names they trade most without waiting for the regular open, so they can adjust positions and manage risk more flexibly.

"We're also pairing this access with education and safeguards, so clients understand how liquidity and pricing can change outside regular hours.

"As one of the first brokers globally to offer this capability, we will continue building professional-grade tools that help investors worldwide navigate markets with greater confidence."
