Free bus ride for Vodafone Warriors fans

Rugby league fans who pre-purchase their tickets for the Vodafone Warriors v Newcastle Knights game at North Harbour Stadium on Friday 15 February will be able to ride for free on special shuttle bus services and selected Northern Express bus services.

Auckland Regional Transport Authority General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “To ride for free on specified Northern Express bus services and free shuttle bus service you must show the driver your pre-purchased ticket for the Vodafone Warriors game at North Harbour Stadium on 15 February 2008.

“Free bus travel applies for special shuttle bus services (operated by Bayes Coachlines) and for Northern Express bus services departing Britomart for Albany Park and Ride between 4.30pm and 7.20pm, and departing Albany Park and Ride between 9.30pm and 10.15pm on Friday 15 February 2008.

“Please don’t forget to show your ticket, otherwise normal bus fares will apply for the Northern Express between Britomart and Albany Park and Ride, and a fare of $1 each way will apply for travel on the shuttle bus between Albany Park and Ride and North Harbour Stadium. Don’t forget to keep your ticket for the return journey,” Mr Lambert says.

Passengers can connect between Albany Park and Ride and the stadium using the special shuttle bus services that will operate continuously between Albany Park and Ride and North Harbour Stadium between 5.00pm and 7.45pm. Return services from the stadium to Albany Park and Ride will operate continuously between 9.30pm and 10.15pm.

After the game finishes, special buses will travel directly from North Harbour Stadium to Britomart (via all Northern Busway stations).

Alternatively, league lovers can also catch the free shuttle bus back to Albany Park and Ride and then transfer to a regular Northern Express bus service.
