Celebrating national Children’s Day in the Wakatipu
The Queenstown Lakes Family Centre is organising a community family picnic to celebrate national Children’s Day on Sunday 2nd March. This is the Wakatipu’s first large community event to recognise Children’s Day.
Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch, a blanket and to come and relax on the Arrowtown Library Green. A variety of stalls and activities will be available including traction engine train rides, Google the Cow and other animals, Youth Yoga, action painting, games and a family orienteering competition. The business community has been very generous in supporting this event through donations of a variety of prizes for the day’s events.
The key theme for this national day is ‘New Experiences’. We are encouraging families to come along and participate in various activities together. Families are also encouraged to bring creative, healthy – ‘5 A Day’ picnics.
Governed by a Charitable Trust the Queenstown Lakes Family Centre is a free service offering counselling and a variety of support services for children, adolescents and families in the Wakatipu.
