Vinu Morar - Mayoral Challenge Bike Winner

Franklin District Mayor, Mark Ball, presented long time Franklin resident, Vinu Morar, with a brand new Avanti Bike last week. Vinu won the bike by attending the Bike Wise Mayoral Challenge on Tuesday 26th February.


“We had an excellent time, we went around (the track) three times,” says Vinu who came with his family to take part in the event. Along with supporting his old friend Mark, he saw it as a good opportunity to go around the track and cycle together as a family.


When asked if he would take part in next years event he said “absolutely!”


When presenting the Avanti 24 gear bike, Mayor Mark Ball commented on how great it was to do the Mayoral Challenge.


“It was such a good community event. People who ride a bike every day were cycling shoulder to shoulder with those who had to dig their bike out from the back of the shed! Hopefully some people remembered what a good way a bike is to get around and have fun. And after all, how could I not be involved when it meant a Franklin resident could win this great Avanti bike?” says Mayor Ball.
