Another National flip flop
John Key has shown once again that he will say what he thinks the public want to hear but do the opposite when he thinks no one is watching, says Social Development Minister Ruth Dyson.
"This afternoon we will conclude the First Reading of the Children, Young Persons and their Families Amendment Bill (no 6) which contains a series of proposals to strengthen how the Youth Court deals with young offenders and promotes the rights of victims of youth crime.
"Despite John Key promising the public only a few weeks ago that he wanted to make changes to Youth Court orders, the National Party has said they will vote against this legislation, in yet another flip flop on policy."
"It sounds like John Key and the National Party do not have far to look to find a story of lost opportunities - they should look at themselves."
