HUNTLY

Huntly residents wanting to catch a slice of V8s action can more easily take a bus to the event thanks to extra services.

Normal Huntly to Hamilton and return bus services will operate on Thursday 17 April and Friday 18 April.

The usual Saturday service will be supplemented by an extra Hamilton-bound bus in the morning and two extra return buses in the afternoon.

A special Sunday service will see two bus trips to Hamilton at 8am and 9am, with returns at 6pm and 6.30pm.

Normal fares will apply and all service times depend on traffic flows, so may vary from those advertised.

"Pavlovich, the bus company operating the Huntly service, and Environment Waikato wanted to give Huntly motoring enthusiasts a bus option to get to the racing," said land transport operations manager Russell Turnbull. "We're keen to reduce the Hamilton 400’s carbon footprint by encouraging bus use, cycling or walking to the event."

An alternative is to drive to the Park & Ride sites at Puketaha or Ruakura and catch a special bus straight to the circuit. There is, however, a parking charge for this service.
