Wastewater treatment plants to be upgraded

Taupo District Council would like to advise the Kinloch and Waitahanui communities that works to upgrade their wastewater treatment plants will begin this week.

The upgrade of the Kinloch Wastewater Treatment Plant will ensure it has the capacity to cope with the existing and short-term future needs of the community.

The Waitahanui upgrade will ensure the plant complies with new resource consent conditions for wastewater treatment by providing additional filtration and disinfection prior to discharge.

Both projects are expected to be completed within four to six months.
