Moana Pool’s Swimsation School has been announced ‘Swimschool of the Year’ at the latest franchise awards evening held in Auckland recently.
Adrian Brown, Moana Pool’s Swimsation Supervisor, says the programme has grown since its initiation in 2003.

“Last term we had 1860 enrolments for Swimsation lessons, ranging from 6 month old babies through to teens and adults”, he says.

The pool’s Swimsation programme was assessed, along with 17 other Swimsation franchises throughout the country, against criteria of profit and loss, instructor standards, total groups participating, customer retention, customer feedback, a mystery shopper survey, and marketing and sales.

“Our Swimsation programme instils a confidence in the water for all our participants. Swimming is a life skill, not just a recreational pursuit, and the high number of drownings over the Christmas period (thankfully none in Otago) has highlighted how important learning to swim is.

“While we teach kids how to swim in a still body of water, we hope families will encourage their children to use the skills we teach them in practical settings such as lakes, rivers and the ocean”, says Mr Brown.
