Lump Sum Payments Exceed Expectation

Ratepayers from across the Tararua District have responded well to the Lump Sum option for the Dannevirke Town Centre Refurbishment.

One in four ratepayers districtwide have opted for the lump sum payment alternative producing just under $500,000.

Mayor Maureen Reynolds thanks all those who took up the option, pointing out that “it was only an option and not a requirement to pay the lump sum. The ‘Invitation’ letter to ratepayers, while controversial to many, was necessary to meet legal requirements”.

All rate invoices, including those for the lump sum payments, will be posted early in August.
