Just under two weeks until our next event - the Huia Rogaine on the 12th July.
After a 3 1/2 hour meeting with the Auckland Regional Council on Saturday we have some very important news on the Huia Rogaine and all future events in the Waitakere Ranges.
For those of you who haven't tried a rogaine, these events offer something for everyone because you set the distance you want to go and how long you want to be out in the bush for. All walking/running is on tracks so no bush bashing involved! The navigation is easy because all the tracks are marked on the map - if you can read a road map then you can do these rogaines. More details are below.
We included Lactic Turkey car stickers for everyone in the race packs at the Piha Rogaine. To make sure you use them, we're giving away a years "All you can Eat Turkey" (free individual entry into all Lactic Turkey events for a year) to the first car seen with a Lactic Turkey Sticker on it. We'll note the rego number in our next email and that person can contact us to claim the prize!
After the rogaines there is a bit of a break until November where we have our P6 on the 8th November 2008. The Scott P6 is mainly aimed as an introductory adventure race for people to try it out. But the course is also set so the more serious adventure racers will also be challenged (Team Orion and other experienced teams have enjoyed our P6's in the past). Disciplines include mountain biking, run/walk, a water activity (no kayaks), simple navigation, teamwork, strategy and mystery activities. More details are below.
That's all from us for now - see you at a rogaine.
