ARTA prepared for Friday's protest action

Trucks will gather at motorway on-ramps in Auckland and enter the city on two main routes to head for the Auckland CBD at 7.30am. It is expected that the protest will disperse at 9.30am.

ARTA’s General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “Our understanding is that the CBD will be congested between approximately 7.00am and 10.00am. Commuters using bus services to get into the Auckland CBD during this time will be bussed to the perimeter of the CBD and should expect to walk from that point.

“All trains will be in use during this time as per normal timetable. Given the anticipated extra demand, commuters should expect heavier passenger loadings than usual.

“Ferry services will also be operating as per normal timetable. Again, commuters should expect higher than usual passenger numbers.”

Passengers are advised to allow more time for their journey tomorrow morning.
