Chief Executive Officers Position with SWDC

The South Wairarapa District Council is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer to replace Griff Page who resigned from the position in April. The new appointee is Dr Jack Dowds from Palmerston North and he will commence work on 4 August. Dr Dowds was Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Executive Director and Head of Accountancy at Massey University College of Business until 2005 and has just completed a fixed term contract with UCOL. He has very strong financial and management skills which we believe will be critical if South Wairarapa District Council is to remain viable into the future. Although he has an academic background, Jack Dowds is very much a people person who is looking forward to a new career that has a strong community focus.
