MT MAUNGANUI

This year’s Tauranga Homeshow at the Mt Action Centre, Mt Maunganui on the 22nd to 24th August is shaping up to be the most extensive array of specialty products, services and entertainment for all ages. 170 exhibitors will line up to present products covering all facets of the home; including home heating, building products and luxury items through to informative seminars with property experts.

Value and selection are key issues for visitors this year and the Tauranga Home Show delivers, with the opportunity to compare a wide range of products, prices and functionality under one roof, and to make an informed choice on all those important home investment decisions.

For those planning on building a home, the Tauranga Homeshow is a must see. And there are good deals to be had, with Fowler Homes, winner of the Master Builders Supreme award in 2007 offering a special discount for Homeshow visitors, and Ultimate Homes NZ is offering a FREE 42inch Plasma TV and Home Theatre system for orders arising from the show. Penny Homes will be showcasing a stunning range of unique land and home packages at The Lakes Tauranga and for those looking for legal advice for their assets, Ross Holmes will be there to guide you to a more prosperous future.

Looking to advance your stakes in the property market? Back by popular demand, the Property Know-How seminars will offer Homeshow visitors free, impartial advice with sessions throughout the day. First-time homebuyers and current property investors will take home plenty of great tips; unbiased information on financial guidance, pitfalls to avoid, legal considerations, and ideas to boost the value of their property, saving thousands in unnecessary cost.

To make your house the home of your dreams, start at the foundations, with Building Systems’ Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) technology to form stable, solid substrate as the foundation of your dream home. For doors and windows Alpwood Joinery will show the aesthetic of wood combined with the strength of aluminium. And from the first of July it will become standard to have double glazed windows in the Bay of Plenty for new building projects including renovations, so visitors should see NZ Revive Ltd for a demonstration on how to specify and retrofit double glazing.

Home heating is a key issue for all home-owners and the Tauranga Homeshow has a full selection of effective ways to heat your home. Sunz Rotex Waikato, will demonstrate the latest solar heating technology that can supply up to 75% of your hot water every year, whereas Warmup New Zealand Ltd specialises in radiant heating including under-tile, under-carpet, in-slab, indoor and outdoor heaters. For warmth and economy, Parkwood Pellets Fires provides the eco-friendly fireplace of the 21st century, and Tauranga Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps will demonstrate the latest in affordable and efficient heat pumps with three earlybird specials on Fujitsu floor-mounted models at the show. Or for a total home approach, see market leaders HRV about how to redistribute the naturally forming heat in your roof around the house for health and comfort.

Now you’ve heated your home, insulation is an important factor in keeping the heat in! Eco Insulation Ltd has responded to requests for natural insulation products that are ecologically sound, environmentally safe, and toxic-free, offering warmer, drier and healthier homes. Alternatively insulate with Woolcote Ltd, pure wool to keep your place warm as a sheep’s back while still able to breathe and ventilate. Also visit Whisper Doors, which provides a garage door with a durable, insulating, draft free door that keeps the cold out and blocks noise from the home.

New Zealanders' love of indoor and outdoor living and their need for style, privacy and warmth make shutters, screens, fences and gates from Santa Fe Shutters an ideal option, or dress up your home with Awnings & Covers to trap in heat and extend your outdoor living all year round. To protect your property from the elements and insects, Phantom Screens can be fitted inside or out, or Ecomist can take care of insect and pest control indoors, fragrance and odour control.

Aside from home exteriors, we all desire the home comforts of the interior. At the Tauranga Homeshow this year, you can discover rich colour options with Resene, or flatter that room with Stone Age Furniture’s beautiful range of rustic slab-top coffee and dining tables, get quirky and stylish bean bag furniture from Ambient Lounge NZ, and solve your storage dilemmas with solutions from Designer Homeware Ltd. Time for Bed? Try the ultimate in mattress comfort by New Lialand Bed Company with great Homeshow deals and factory direct prices. In the all-important kitchen, there are opportunities galore with Viking Homewares offering a top range of value cookware, pots and pans, and Kitchen Adventures offering top-of-the line unique products for all your kitchenware needs. And as part of the Tauranga Homeshow promotions we are giving away an ELBA by Fisher & Paykel fridge!

To add a little luxury in your life come and sample the OSIM range of massage chairs to massage your aches and pains away. There’s also the latest in luxury spas to sit and soak away the pressure of the day from Sundance Spas. Or get ready for summer with state of the art pool technology from Classic Pools & Landscapes Ltd.

And the list goes on with a huge selection of products as diverse as tasty selections from New Zealand wines, liqueurs on display from Federal GEO, sample exquisite fudge from Fudge It or discover natural products for the home from Ria’s soaps. Show goers can paddle their way to fitness with Viking Kayaks, safe, stable, and attractive kayaks suitable for paddling around waterways, kayak fishing and more. Plant lovers will appreciate Outdeco Ltd and their new fiberglass planter pots and water features, light to carry and long lasting. You may even need to see a chiropractor and will find Bay Chiropractic Centre exhibiting at the show!

Not only are there hot property tips to be gained and product specialisation for home requirements but Tauranga Homeshow will offer fun for the whole family. The winner of the kids colouring competition which has been held throughout 25 local schools will be drawn for a Springfree trampoline valued at $1,800. Kids on the day activities include face painting and games.

Also on show this year is the Tauranga City Council who have three stands to cover all your building enquiries, update you on district plan changes for what’s happening in and around Tauranga and a new stand on sustainable environments. They will be having a prize draw for a lucky winner to win $250 off their rates or the equivalent food voucher.

For ease of transport to the Tauranga Home Show, Bayline Coaches will be providing a continuous Bay Hopper service to and from Tawa Street Reserve to the Mt Action Centre throughout the show. Park your car conveniently at Blake Park (Maunganui Street) and wait no more than five minutes to ride direct to the show entry, and back again when you're ready.
