The current world Rogaining Champion Chris Forne, will be racing to take another title at the prestigious Heights of Winter Rogaine this weekend.

Forne, who along with Christchurch's Dennis De Monchy, took out the World Rogaining Championships in Australia last weekend recently won the Adventure Racing World Champs in Scotland as part of team Nike.

Forne will race with local tyro Joe Jagusch, a combination that already this year has had success at the unque TWALK event run, a 24 hour event run by the Canterbury University Tramping Club.

The Heights of Winter is a 12 hr event starting a 9am and finishing at 9pm, meaning the last few hours are in darkness making for tricky navigation. Fortunately the weather is looking settled in Canterbury for this weekend, allowing competitors to focus on excelling rather than surviving.
