Stratford Council Visit

A Stratford District Council group dropped in on Tararua yesterday for lunch and some information swapping.

Stratford’s mayor John Edwards, chief executive Michael Freeman, councillors and two youth councillors enjoyed time with Tararua mayor Maureen Reynolds, councillors and senior management before heading to Central Hawke’s Bay for a similar visit.

Among the topics under discussion were broadband infrastructure and water upgrades.

Mayor Reynolds, a former resident of Stratford said she valued the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest to rural districts.
