A leading New Zealand artist will feature her dramatic splatter style of painting as part of New Zealand Fashion Week in Auckland next week.

Lisa Ferguson, who has Bill and Hillary Clinton attend her art exhibition in New York last year will have her art on the walls and the catwalk at this year’s annual fashion extravaganza starting at the Viaduct Harbour next Tuesday.

Christchurch-based Ferguson recently returned from two years in New York City and fashion week organisers invited her to display a large work in the venue foyer, as her art has strong synergies with fashion’s vivacious, creative and energetic qualities.

Air New Zealand Fashion Week organisers will also have her works on display at an art gallery, within the venue.

Her solo show in New York featured a special private function held for Bill and Hillary Clinton. Ferguson has exhibited and sold worldwide, and her works grace homes from New Zealand, Australia, Europe, The Middle East and America.

Ferguson said her works challenge viewers to explore their imagination and connection to each work, creating emotional landscapes to be explored by both the eye and the soul.

``My art is as expressions of energy, representing the turbulence, experiences and emotional journey of life.’’
