THE PRENZEL SHOP  – OPENING SOON AT BOTANY TOWN CENTRE

An entrepreneurial mother-daughter team are building on the success of their range of liqueurs, spirits and culinary fare with a brand-new store. Having opened the first Prenzel store in Whitford Village nearly four years ago, Mavis Griffiths and Sarah Dodson are taking their world-class products to town with the opening of a second tasting room at Botany Town Centre.

Prenzel’s popularity is well-established. In 2007, Mavis and Sarah’s Prenzel of Whitford store was voted Top Shop Winner in the Food and Beverage Category at the Retail Excellence Awards and was a finalist in the Excellence in Tourism category at the Manukau Business Excellence Awards.

Along with the established range, the Prenzel shop at Botany Town Centre will showcase the best of New Zealand-made artisan products from around the country, lovingly crafted in small kitchens by people passionate and knowledgeable about food.

Botany Town Centre Senior Centre Manager Jennifer Manning says her team is delighted to welcome the new store. “Prenzel’s extensive range of products will appeal to anyone who enjoys tantalizing their taste buds, and they bring a different kind of retail offering to the centre. We recently undertook a wide-ranging customer survey and found that many shoppers are eager for more food-related and specialist stores, so we are pleased to be introducing Prenzel to meet that demand.”

Foodies are sated by Prenzel’s wide range of infused oils (both rice bran and olive) and salts, vinaigrettes, wine vinegars and dessert toppings. Mavis and Sarah say their products, designed for the Kiwi palate, revolutionize the way their customers cook, entertain and enjoy their food. The liqueurs and culinary products are complemented by a range of beautiful glassware, accessories and homeware.

Mavis Griffiths says she and her daughter are excited about their new Botany Town Centre venture. “We are looking forward to seeing not only our loyal customers who visit us at Prenzel of Whitford, but many more new faces in the new Prenzel shop. We have recipe ideas with products to suit, and look forward to chatting with customers about our range and sharing ideas about how to use our products.”

The diverse range of award-winning liqueurs includes hand-crafted limited edition Liqueurs, Premium Liqueurs, Cream Liqueurs and Fruit Schnapps, and top-shelf spirits such as pure Fruit Brandies (eau-de-vie) that are distilled from the most perfect fruit. Prenzel Blenheim Bay Gin is a consistent international award-winner, and is rated among the top gins in the world.

A recent release from Prenzel is Southern Star Vodka. Made to the same exacting standard as all Prenzel spirits, it is already topping blind tasting reviews and winning awards internationally.

Mavis says, “Prenzel products make perfect gifts with a difference for grown-ups. People who’ve visited the Prenzel shop in Whitford will be aware of the uniqueness of the gift arrangements on offer – and they will find the same tasty and exciting products at Botany Town Centre. You could even transform yourself into a domestic god or goddess!”
