Oamaru Harbour dredging delayed

Dredging of the Oamaru Harbour, scheduled for September, has been delayed due to technical problems with the dredging equipment used by Council’s contractor.

The contractor is currently awaiting parts to fix the dredging equipment. These parts had to be sourced from overseas.

It is hoped that the technical problems can be resolved quickly so that the Harbour can be dredged in October.

Council acknowledges the difficulties experienced by boats at the Harbour entrance since the August storms, and thanks those using the Harbour for their patience.
