New bank registered

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand today announced that Southland Building Society has been registered as a bank in New Zealand.
Southland Building Society will continue to be a mutually-owned building society although also registered as a bank.
There are now 18 registered banks in New Zealand, which are listed on the Reserve Bank's website (www.rbnz.govt.nz).
